Tanya joined the Association’s Teacher Employment Services executive staff in April 2021. She spent most of her 15-year career with Elk Island Catholic Schools as a high school teacher, school counsellor and administrator. Tanya was fortunate to be able to serve in many communities including Sherwood Park, Vegreville and Camrose. She also had the joy of working for the Canadian International School of Guangzhou, an Alberta Accredited International School, where she was the Head of School/Principal for Pre-K-G12. Tanya holds a BEd and a Master's in Educational Psychology both from the University of Alberta. Prior to joining the Association, she was involved with Elk Island Catholic Local No 21 as PD chair and VP Vegreville and was a member of the Professional Conduct Committee for many years.

In addition to acting as a representative of the bargaining agent, Tanya acts as a staff co-advisor to the Council for School Leadership and serves the Association through a multitude of different ways with a special focus on our Francophone members.
