I first began my education career as an EA in a French Immersion setting working with students with special needs, helping with their reading, writing, and math. My passion is helping young struggling readers and writers. I then went on for a Bachelor of Education degree through Campus St. Jean and taught for about 10 years. Following this, I attained two masters; Master of Arts in Education – Reading, through Dominican, Illinois, and Master of Elementary Education -Language and Literacy, University of Alberta. In all, I have been in the educational domain for over 20 years. I now work in the position of Inclusive Learning Facilitator at École Pere Kenneth Kearns Catholic School in Sherwood Park, Elk Island Catholic Division. I am also a certified tutor in the Orton-Gillingham program for Dyslexic students and volunteer on a regular basis at the Rite to Learn Center in Edmonton; a center where tutoring is offered for those diagnosed with LD in reading and writing. I am the Assistant Deputy Director for the newly opened Sherwood Park Branch of the Rite to Learn Center.
