While completing training in Expressive Art Therapy, I quickly became aware of how versatile, insightful, and powerful the expressive arts can be in processing themes of grief, loss, and trauma. I further recognized that engaging in the expressive arts was extremely beneficial in working with consistent themes of identity, inclusivity, and belonging. Through the expressive arts, we are able to access and engage our creative brain resulting in a deeper understanding of ourselves.
