Scientific literacy is a must when it comes to understanding important scientific concepts. So when the COVID-19 vaccines started rolling out, a lot of skepticism followed. Many folks questioned the safety of it because of fear mongering posts raising the concern of how quickly they were developed. In this presentation, we want to equip educators with the support and training they need to foster scientific literacy in their classrooms, especially around vaccine confidence and other topical controversial science topics. We will provide credible resources that can help you and your students counter myths and misinformation, as well as include tips on how to deal with resistance from groups like parents and/or guardians.
