Join Maureen Yates, PhD, Field Experience Associate, and a panel comprised of a Student Teacher, Mentor Teacher, School Coordinator, University Facilitator, and Field Experience Associate, as they discuss the current realities of pre-service teachers and outline the critical importance of our collaborative relationship with schools. In a time like no other, U of A Field Experiences is dedicated to listening, hearing and responding to the needs of our schools.Our focus is to support meaningful and relevant educational opportunities to nurture the competence and character of our student teachers. Ultimately, we want our students to be prepared to enter your schools with the tools they will need to begin their career-long professional growth. We appreciate all feedback from the field that will support us in our dedication to preparing student teachers for a collaborative, responsive, and flexible learning environment. This session is open to new, seasoned and interested mentor teachers and administrators, who would like to learn more about the educational journey of our pre-service teachers; the online learning environment developed during COVID-19; processes to support the Introductory and Advanced Field Experiences (IFX and AFX); and the commitment of the U of A to create and maintain excellent relationships with our school partners in order to strengthen and enhance our profession. This session is open to new, seasoned and interested mentor teachers and administrators, who would like to learn more about the educational journey of our pre-service teachers. The four field experiences will be profiled with student teachers, mentor teachers and Field Experience Associates talking about their direct experiences in the practicums. Join us for a rich exchange of information, ideas and questions.
