Generative Dialogue and Teaching Sprints as School Leadership Best Practices

This session is designed for School Leaders who are utilizing Generative Dialogue and/or Teacher Sprints as part of the instructional leadership process in their schools. WRSD Administrators have been using the work of Adams, Mombourquette and Townsend (2019) titled Leadership in Education the Power of Generative Dialogue to improve leader and teacher effectiveness in schools. Other administrators are using a similar process that Simon Breakspear calls Teaching Sprints (2020). Join WRSD administrators to collaboratively (in an ed-cafe style) discuss pressing issues in leadership including mission and vision, building a culture of learning, examining leadership, providing evidence for learning and more. Grade Focus is K-12. Generative Dialogue Questions to discuss will include: Where can growth begin? How is leading connected to learning? How do you lead without having all the answers? How can I be a leader of learners? Haven’t read the books? Don’t worry! This session’s format will ensure that all attendees will have an opportunity to discuss these questions with understanding, relevance and value. To make this session most meaningful for attendees, if you have questions that you would like to discuss during this session, please email lara.jollymore@wrsd.ca with suggested topics. We will also create a collaborative email discussion thread for the session prior to conference, so if you would like to participate in the preparation of this leadership ed-cafe session, please email lara.jollymore@wrsd.ca
