As a First Nation woman who has had the opportunity to experience the education system from many different points of view I feel that there is so much to be shared and much for educators to understand. As a student first, my education journey had been a bumpy one and often difficult to navigate. Then deciding to trust in the belief that my Elders have in my I found the courage to take on a roll as an Educator qualified through the teachings of my people rather than a university I found myself being the only Indigenous person on staff. This had its share of challenges, and now as I embark on a whole new journey as a partner in a new, independent Indigenous organization my challenge is to find my place in the Education space as my own boss. It has been a journey but an exciting one that I can’t wait to share with all of you.
