Caterina Lazor

Culturally Responsive Teaching in Learning ESL
Caterina Lazor is an ESL Instructional Coach & Middle School Teacher with Elk Island Catholic Schools, and the PD Director Central for the ESLC- ESL Council of the Alberta Teachers Association! Her passion for supporting ELL students and teachers has permeated into every element of her life, including in her classroom and the professional development she works to bring teachers across Alberta. Caterina recently completed her Masters in Educational Leadership where she specialized in Culturally Responsive Teaching and supporting Multilingual Learners. She brings her experience working with English Language Learners along with her formal training to help teachers support language and culture cohesively in the classroom. Throughout her life, Caterina has taught and learned many languages herself. As a second language teacher and learner, she understands the components that go into learning a second language and the scaffolds required to be successful as a language learner. She has had the opportunity to speak at many conferences and professional development sessions regarding her passion for supporting ELL students. Caterina is excited to share her love for supporting Multilingual Learners through her session with you!
